We are all the same!

We’re All The Same

If You See Me Caught In One Way Street
Weighing Less Than A Shadow On A Screen
And I Can Hardly Breathe & Smell A Breeze
With A Fire Underneath My Skin
That’s When You Know That I Catched HIV
Though No One Is To Blame
Because I’m Just Like You, We Are The Same
As The Folks You See Walking Down The Lane

Then, Don’t Run Away, Don’t Try To Hide
From Us Who Are Aching This Sickness Inside
When Solitary Exclamations Will Not Subside
So Try To Be Caring & Me Do Not Criticise
The Stigma Can Hurt In Society’s Eyes
I Keep Wondering Why It Is Still A Huge Taboo?
It Is Just Another Malady & You Know It’s True!

If One Day You Find Out That You Have Aids
Would You Want People To Look At You With Disdain
Could You Cope With Such An Enduring Pain
Such A Bloody Fire Spreading In Your Veins
That Consumes You In The Pouring Rain
And All You Want Is To Break The Chain
But You Are The Same Man You Were Yesterday
So Would You Accept To Be Treated Another Way?
Would You Like Your Loved Ones To Fade Away?
Shouldn’t You Have Something To Say?
Thus, For The Sake Of A Name, Don’t Go Away
After All, We Will All Just Be Swept Away

Just Give What You Can, And Look For The Best
I Call You With The Voice Within My Chest
Be Loving And Enduring, Do Your Greatest
Help Someone, Bring Them To Happiness
Make A Difference, Be A Pal, & Comprehend
We Are Living All Together In This Land
Come What May Happen, A Man’s Always A Man
We'll Be Keeping Pressing Every Day
Until We Find Our Own Guiding Ray
Let Our Love Lead The Way
I May Feel Weak But I Am Strong
Since You Are Here, I Won't Give Up Hope
If You Believe In Me, I’ll Never Be Wrong
There’s A Hero Inside Of My Soul
That Reaches Out To Your Core
To Bring My Life To Anew, Where The Sky Is So Blue
So, Next Time Don’t Turn Away,  When You Hear My Name
Just Let Us Lead The Way,  coz We’re All The Same

Nice poem. Let's hope it will help people look at AIDS differently and change their perceptions of those who have it.
